Hello planners--These are my notes on Tom Ludlam's suggestions. 1. include some of the science/world perspective in the Executive summary--1 paragraph at most. I will do that. 2. Tom was concerned that L and P targets might come back to haunt us if we don't reach them. He had not noticed the 5 physics weeks per year band on Wolfram's plot. I think he is satisfied with our presentation. 3. He is concerned that all major players have not been lined up for an overall upgrade plan, for example proposals to NSF that are mentioned in the plan. He is concerned about where we will stand if one or more isn't supported by NSF. He recognizes that the spin planners cannot fix this, nor give priorities. We agreed that we should change to language like "possibility of NSF support being pursued". I will do that. He agrees that the approach of 2 scenarios--10 spin physics weeks/year with completion of W upgrades to match, and 5 weeks/year--is a good approach. 4. Tom wants us to include sentences on R&D support of the Phenix vertex detector work, GEM, and anything else that we mention that has been supported with DOE R&D funds. I will try to collect the information and get sentences into the document (here I will need help). Gerry
