Hello spinners--As you already learned from Akio, I would like to
have a telephone meeting Friday Jan. 7, 1700-1900 EST.  I hope that
this time slot is not too inconvenient.  I will be away until Friday
morning, and Akio is also away, so it will be difficult to
respond to requests for a new time--but email both Akio and me
if you need us to change it and we will try.

As I already wrote to you, we have a new deadline for the first
draft, Jan. 13, and we will discuss the draft at the spin
collaboration meeting Jan. 14.

The purpose of the telephone meeting Jan. 7 is to discuss open
issues.  My list is

1. more discussion about upgrades--
	--"baseline" vs. expanding to new capabilities
	--schedules and costs and funding
	--any other questions (what if a baseline item isn't funded?)

2. more discussion on "minimum" goals
	--STAR and PHENIX should discuss this and bring views to
		meeting (and individual opinions too!)
	--theoretical view

3. discussion on schedule for RHIC spin

4. organization--writers, collecting text, etc.

5. reports on writing so far

6. discussion on schedule for preparing plan

On 5, although I don't expect many takers, our 1st draft deadline will
be only a week away--I hope to have outlines/figures at the least.
(I expect that defining the important figures and then developing the
text around the figures may be the easiest way to proceed.)

Also on 5, I have written a draft of an executive summary.  A text file
is attached, and I have asked Yuji to put pdf and ps files on the web,
spin discussion page.  Comments:
	--it is way too long
	--I am thinking that 3 figures would be very useful for it
	--I have not included the other experiments (Brahms and future
		experiments) in the summary, but they will be in the body
		of the report
	--perhaps it will serve to focus the preparation of the plan

I will, of course, want to receive suggestions, critical or otherwise!
