Hi Gerry,

    Sorry I missed the meeting.  It was an unavoidable case of
overlapping meetings, and my hope that my 4:00 pm committee
meeting (Graduate Admissions decisions) would end in time
for me to participate in the phone conference did not work out
(we met until after 6:30 pm).  I have _many_ other committee
responsibilities last week and this week, but am about halfway
through the section on STAR, will try to have a complete section to you
by Thursday (earlier is just not possible).  I am not likely to have a
chance to read through the assembled document before the weekend.

   I know Tim expressed serious concern that giving the Collaborations
too short a time to digest and respond would be read (whether
justified or not) as an attempt to "pull a fast one", and wanted to
urge you to delay submission, or find an alternative creative
solution.  I am hoping he brought this up with you in person over
the past few days -- he is now off to India.
